VOLUNTEER TRAINING FOR PEOPLE NOT IN WORK .

Volunteer Group Coordinator Training for Changes Bristol Mental Health Charity Training will take place in September 2012. Comprehensive 13 hours training will be given and will occur on each Monday of September on 3rd (9:30am to 12:30pm), 10th (9:30am-12:30pm), 17th (9:30am - 12:30pm) and 24th September (9am to 1pm). Followed by further modules of training after volunteering has begun. We have volunteer roles available for Volunteer Group Coordinators. These positions help facilitate peer support meetings for people with mental distress like depression and anxiety. We expect people to be able to commit to 3 hours a week voluntary work. No payment is made except for expenses for travel too and from the venue. Description: This is an opportunity for anyone who is currently not working and has suffered from or has experience of Mental health problems. The volunteer role is to help run a peer support group for those with mental distress like depression and anxiety. This involves helping to run a meeting for 2-2 1/2 hours at a regular venue each week. Ongoing training, supervision and support will be given to all volunteers. Other volunteer opportunities may also be available following the training for fundraising or administration work. Call or email for an information pack and application form.
